Healthy Minds

Since 2013, Sun Country Pediatrics has made and investment in our community by developing our Healthy Minds Program, an incentive program for our patients who achieve Honor Roll at school, and a grant program for local schools to fund projects in the classroom which support reading, math and science.

How It Works

For Students

Each quarter, your and your child bring in their Honor Roll report card.  They receive a certificate signed by Dr. Griffen, a wristband, and a special Coupon for Chic-fil-A.  They are entered into a drawing for a Kindle Fire.  Drawings for the Kindle Fire occur once per semester.  We recognize students for their hard work through Facebook.

For Schools

Each semester select schools are invited to participate in the Healthy Minds Grant program.  Teachers and their principals submit their Healthy Minds grant applications to Sun Country Pediatrics – up to $500 will be awarded to each school per semester.

Why We Do It

For our practice, the Healthy Minds program is a way for students to know that education is an important part of healthy development and for every child to exercise their mind.  It is also a way to help the children in our community learn to love books. The program has been proven to promote reading at home and better prepare children entering kindergarten with larger vocabularies and stronger language skills.
